Building upon the popularity of our first After Effects project-based course, AFX208, we'll begin work on a new project from concept through compositing and design. For this project, we'll be creating a new animated show open in the style of programs such as "Top Chef", "Project Runway", and "Make Me a Supermodel". Leading the course will be Danny Princz, a New York City based artist who has taught several courses in the past. Also helping out will be Mark Christiansen, author of "Adobe After Effects CS4 Visual Effects and Compositing Studio Techniques", and fxphd dean John Montgomery.

The collection contains projects for Adobe After Effects CS2, CS3, CS4. All done in AE and (almost all) do not require additional plug-ins. If you add your pictures, videos, logos, etc. - And you have a professional beginning (or ending), clip to your presentation or film. All projects to edit, they are working, each file has a preview (JPG, FLV)

Trapcode Particular 2.0 is required for this project. This project comes with the music and sound effects in separate layers, that way you can change the music but keep the sound effects. Its very simple to edit this project because all you need to do is change the text and the the spark particles will automatically adjust to the text. The background video is a quicktime video rendered in 3d application but the camera data is included in the comp which allows the placement of objects as if they were in the scene.

Mark Christiansen, author of Adobe After Effects CS5 Visual Effects and Compositing Studio Techniques, returns for a new project-based course featuring composting and effects for PROJECT ARBITER. The short concept film, currently in post production, was shot with 2 RED cameras and fxphd members will be able to work through several shots on the film, potentially even having their shot find a place in the final release and their name featured in the credits. In addition, for April term members, there will be a small invite-only "Special Ops" group which will work through other shots on the film. Members will apply for Special-Ops by submitting a demo reel, CV, and a time commitment to work on the project. Details on applying will be provided to fxphd members.
